Shall we be so bold as to toss off our toques? Can we take a chance and unfurl our feathery shawls? In all honesty, it may be a tad early to turn our backs on our lovely sweaters and cosy cardigans. But our eyes and crafty hearts are seeking out brighter yarns and lighter fabrics. It's a sure sign of the changing seasons, and we can’t wait!
With the end of March comes our annual inventory count, and a wee spring break for ourselves and our staff. Our bricks and mortar store will be closed from Saturday, April 1st to Wednesday, April 12th. No worries, our online store will open up again on April 4th and we’ll be shipping out as usual during our holiday.
April also brings new in-store hours. Starting April 12th, we're adding an extra hour on Wednesday through Friday, and keeping our regular hours on Saturday. That means we're closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Riverside Yarns will be open Wednesdays to Fridays, 11 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays 10 AM to 4 PM. Our webstore will be open 24/7 and we’ll ship as usual all week long.
And finally, stop by Wednesday afternoons from 1 PM to 3 PM for our Sit 'n' Stitch -- it's a great chance to meet other makers and share in some fibre fun. |

The durability of 100% cotton in cheery colours makes this worsted weight yarn a great choice for washcloths, market bags, kids clothing, baby blankets, and home decor. But why stop there? This yarn would also be great for an adult cardigan or fun summer tee.

Pat Wagter adapted the Flea Sweater/ Loppisgenser, by Anna & Heidi Pickles, to suit the six colours of Peppino that she had picked out. Peppino is a fingering sock yarn from Rhichard Devrieze. The Flea Sweater pattern is available on Ravelry. |
Johanna Brown shows off a sweater that she designed. She knit it in Malabrigo Ultimate Sock.

Claire Matthews based this sweater on a Katia pattern, the Eliseo Sweater. The original pattern called for the body to be worked in reverse stockinette stitch, but Clare didn’t think it showed off the yarn very well.

|
She changed the pattern slightly, and to good effect. She did this in Malabrigo Rios, in the ‘Indiecita’ colour way. |

Sue Burley's punch needle rug will add a burst of colour to any room. She made this with Briggs and Little wool yarns.
